Vivo Y28 5G In-Depth Review
Price and Availability in Bangladesh
The Vivo Y28 5G officially hit the market on January 07, 2024. In Bangladesh, it starts at an accessible unofficial price of ৳14,500 for the base 4GB/128GB (5G) variant, providing excellent budget value for 5G connectivity.
Design, Ergonomics & Durability
Featuring a sleek aesthetic, it comes in attractive colors like Crystal Purple and Glitter Aqua. Weighing just 186g and measuring 8.1mm in thickness, it offers an IP54 rating for dependable splash and dust resistance.
Display Quality & Refresh Rate
This phone sports a 6.56-inch IPS LCD panel with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. While it’s limited to HD+ (720x1612p) resolution, it pushes up to 840 nits of peak brightness for better outdoor visibility.
Performance & 5G Capabilities
Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 (7nm) chipset paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It delivers capable multitasking, smooth navigation, and true 5G networking on a budget.
Software & User Experience
Out of the box, it comes equipped with Android 13 overlaid with Vivo’s proprietary Funtouch 13 interface, providing a highly customizable and clean user experience with smart optimization features.
Primary Rear Camera Performance
On the rear, you get a solid 50MP primary camera (f/1.8) alongside a 2MP depth sensor. It captures nicely detailed photos with vivid color output during daylight and standard 1080p video recording.
Selfie Camera & Video Recording
For selfies and video calling, a respectable 8MP sensor (f/2.0) sits inside the waterdrop notch. Both front and rear shooters support 1080p video at 30 frames per second.
Battery Endurance & Charging
The Vivo Y28 5G houses a large 5000mAh battery, easily providing all-day longevity. However, it relies on a standard 15W wired charging setup, which means top-ups will take slightly longer.
Security, Audio & Connectivity
It includes a fast and responsive side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Face Unlock capabilities, Dual Nano-SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and an integrated FM radio along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Final Verdict & Overall Value
If you’re seeking to step into the 5G ecosystem without breaking the bank, the Vivo Y28 5G is a viable contender. While limited by its HD+ screen and 15W charging speed, its 50MP camera, Dimensity 6020 chip, and stylish IP54 build make it a competitive entry-level choice.
