Expert Review
Battery & Charging
The Huawei nova 16s packs a colossal 7000mAh battery, virtually eliminating daily charging anxiety. Furthermore, the 100W ultra-fast charging can refill this massive cell rapidly, and it even acts as a power bank with 5W reverse charging.
Display Quality
The front sports a beautiful 6.68-inch OLED panel that supports 1 Billion colors, HDR Vivid, and an ultra-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The 2160Hz PWM dimming ensures minimal eye strain in low-light environments.
Processor & Software Experience
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Kirin 8020 chipset paired with an impressive 12GB of RAM. It runs on EMUI 16 (Android-based). While performance is solid, users should note the absence of native Google Play Services.
Outstanding Dual Camera Array
Huawei prioritized quality over quantity with a dual rear setup: a 50MP primary wide sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens boasting 3.7x optical zoom with OIS. The front also packs a wide 50MP sensor for group selfies.
Design, Build, and Protection
Despite packing a gigantic battery, Huawei managed to keep the device exceptionally slim at just 7.3 mm and weighing around 199 grams. It features an aluminum back and an IP65 rating, ensuring protection against dust and low-pressure water jets.
Connectivity and Audio
While missing a 3.5mm audio jack, the device compensates with high-quality stereo speakers. It also future-proofs your connection with Wi-Fi 7, NFC, and the latest Bluetooth 6.0 standard.
